Ariel NY4G is the current webmaster for the club and has been a member since about 2013.
Ariel was first licensed in 2010 as a Technician KJ4JGO, upgraded to General later that year as KJ4REL, and upgraded to Extra in July 2010 first as AJ4YM before getting the Vanity Call NY4G.
Ariel is an avid QRPer and DXer with 182 DXCCs worked with 5 watts or less and also recognized by QRP-ARCI QRP DX Award. He holds at least 25 QSOs with more than 1000 miles per watt and recognized by a QRP-ARCI Century Award. His personal best is 20000 miles per watt on a QSO with HA8RM with 250 mW.
As a DXer, Ariel has 312 DXCC confirmed in LOTW. He holds DXCC's on all 9 HF bands from 160m to 10m. Ariel is quite competitive as well and he entered the year long CQ Magazine DX Marathon competition in 2016 and 2017. He placed 6th in the 5 Watt Division in 2016 working 166 DXCC into 24 Zones, and 7th in the 160m Competition with 109 DXCC into 33 Zones. He led a multi-single team in the 2015 IARU HF Championship from Prince Edward Island as VY2/NY4G and his team came in first in the Maritime Division. He embarked on a solo DXpedition to Saint Pierre and Miquelon as FP/NY4G in 2015 and made over 2000 QSO's from that island group in two separate locations - St. Pierre and Langlade. He has also operated from Turkey as TA3/NY4G. He holds the Canadian Licence VY2AJ.
Ariel led the 2017 Field Day team for the Greer Club - and the club posted their best ever score - 12th in the Roanoke Division and 1st in SC in the 2A Category.
Ariel is now active in SOTA and so far has activated 3 summits in the W4C Association. He is now on a chase to be a SOTAGoat someday.
